It’s not the stimulant ‘Speed’ ground up, but dammit, it’s not far from it. We requested only beans with the absolute highest amount of caffeine available and then utilized a light-roast quick-cool technique that ultimately preserves the highest dose per bean. This level of caffeine can not be achieved with a dark roast due to the loss of caffeine that is inevitably burnt off (so to speak). Small batches of exotic coffees, such as these, are roasted store-side at 201 Bleecker Street in NYC, so you know they really cussing care how things are done. This light roast is light enough to keep you buzzed throughout the day but dark enough to cup smooth. In our pursuit of chasing speed, we leave you nothing short of a high-octane coffee experience. The coffee is sharp, clean, and finishes with a nice berry note that’ll allow you to almost taste the speed (if that was possible). If you are sensitive to coffee, pass on this one.
